Ordering
Pre-Orders
Please note: Not all items in our shop are pre-orders. If a product is a pre-order, it will be clearly labeled in the sub-header on the product page, and in the product description upon purchase. These details will be removed when an item becomes in stock and ready to ship again.
If you’re ordering a pre-order item, here’s what you need to know:
Shipping Timeline: Pre-orders typically ship within 6-10 weeks, though this may vary depending on production. If there are any delays, we’ll notify you promptly and share updated shipping estimates.
Combined Orders: If your order includes both pre-order and in-stock items, everything will ship together once the pre-order arrives. If you need an in-stock item sooner, we recommend placing a separate order.
Cancellations & Refunds: Earrings are final sale and not eligible for refunds for hygienic reasons. All pre-order items are made-to-order and cannot be canceled, refunded, or exchanged due to production or shipping delays.
Because we begin production based on the number of orders and sizes placed, your payment secures your item and helps fund its creation. Once delivered, your item may be eligible for return under our standard return policy, unless marked final sale. If so, this will be clearly stated on the product page. For more information, visit our Shipping & Exchanges page.
For hygienic reasons, we do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges on earrings and body jewelry (including nose and septum rings).
Still have questions? Reach out to us anytime at info@cococlem.com and we're happy to help.
Fulfillment Time
All orders ship from our Wilmington, NC studio within 2-3 business days, and often even the same day they’re placed. Pre-order items have a longer lead time of 6-10 weeks, and will always be clearly marked in both the product title and description.
After leaving our studio, your order typically arrives within 2-5 business days at U.S. addresses. International orders may take anywhere from 4-14 business days to arrive. For expedited orders or to inquire about our current fulfillment time, please contact us at info@cococlem.com.
For specific updates on your order, feel free to email us at info@cococlem.com.
Changes & Cancellations
Address Change:
Buyers are responsible for entering the correct address at checkout. If you need to update your address, email info@cococlem.com within 24 hours of placing your order. Be sure to include your order number and the updated address. Once an order has shipped, we can’t make any changes.
Change Order:
If you need to add or remove something from your order, email us at info@cococlem.com as soon as possible with your order number. We’ll try to accommodate your request, but changes aren’t guaranteed once your order has been processed or shipped.
Cancel Order:
Orders can be canceled within 24 hours of purchase. Please email at info@cococlem.com with your order number. Once your cancellation is confirmed, please allow 5-10 business days for the funds to be credited back to your account, depending on your payment provider.
Due to the made-to-order nature of pre-orders, all pre-order sales are final and cannot be canceled or refunded. Pre-orders are also not eligible for cancellation due to shipping delays. Estimated timelines are always noted on product pages and in email updates.
Payment
Coco Clem accepts all major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Shop Pay.
For orders over $50, you can choose Shop Pay Installments at checkout to split your purchase into four interest-free payments. There are no fees, no hidden charges, and no impact on your credit score.
Returns & Exchanges
We want you to feel confident and excited about your Coco Clem purchase. We gladly accept returns and exchanges on all new and unused items, excluding earrings, which are final sale for hygienic reasons. All items marked as final sale are not eligible for return or exchange.
If you aren’t fully satisfied, please email info@cococlem.com with your order number and reason for return within 7 days of delivery for both domestic and international orders. Exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery. We take all feedback into consideration when designing, so the more specific you can be, the better!
Once your return or exchange is approved, your item must be postmarked within 7 days of initiating the return or exchange request. If it is not, your refund or exchange may be denied.
We offer refunds to the original payment method, store credit, or exchanges. Refunds to the original payment method are approved for items that meet our return policy conditions, and are not guaranteed for all purchases. Refunds exclude original shipping charges and are subject to a $7 handling fee, which will be deducted from your total refund. If you opt for an exchange or store credit instead, the restocking fee is waived. The customer is responsible for shipping costs associated with shipping the item back to us for a return or exchange.
International customers must arrange return shipping through their local postal service. We recommend tracked and insured shipping, as Coco Clem is not responsible for lost or delayed packages. Returns and exchanges are processed within 5-10 business days of receiving and inspecting your item.
Please take care when trying on garments. Items must be returned in unworn, unused condition, exactly as received. We cannot accept exchanges for items with deodorant or lotion marks, make-up stains, pet hair, perfume or odors, missing or damaged tags, compromised packaging, snagged fabric, or any other signs of wear. Returns that show any of these issues, or arrive with damage due to improper packaging on the return journey, will be considered unsellable and will be rejected. In such cases, your refund will be denied and the item will be returned to you at your expense.
All pre-order items are made-to-order and cannot be canceled, refunded, or exchanged due to production or shipping delays. Because we begin pre-order production based on the number of orders and sizes placed, your payment secures your item and helps fund its creation. Once your item is delivered, it may be eligible for return according to our standard return policy, unless otherwise stated. Some pre-orders may be marked final sale and ineligible for return. If this applies, it will be clearly stated on the product page prior to checkout.
Coco Clem monitors return activity and reserves the right to refuse service if we detect misuse or abuse of our exchange policy.
Email us at info@cococlem.com to file your exchange.
For hygienic reasons, we do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges on earrings and body jewelry (including nose and septum rings).
Some discounted items and Wonder Box orders are ineligible for exchange due to being final sale.
Tracking Order
You will receive tracking with your shipping confirmation to the email you used during checkout when your order ships. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder or feel free to reach out.
Domestic Shipping
All domestic packages are shipped via USPS, with free US shipping on all orders over $75. If you need an item expedited, please email us at info@cococlem.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
International Shipping
We offer flat-rate international shipping starting at $25 via DHL Express. While this method is more expensive than standard postal services, it’s significantly more reliable. Many packages shipped through economy carriers end up lost or delayed, which is why we’ve chosen DHL to ensure fast and reliable delivery.
Please note that duties, taxes, and import fees are not included in the shipping cost. These charges are determined by your country’s customs office, and DHL will contact you directly to collect any applicable fees before delivery.
If a package is refused, unclaimed, or abandoned due to unpaid customs charges, it may be destroyed by DHL, and we won’t be able to offer a refund or replacement in such cases. If your package is returned to us, we’ll refund the item cost minus the original shipping fee.
In rare instances where your address is categorized by DHL as a remote delivery zone, a team member will reach out to collect the additional shipping balance.

You can find our entire wholesale line on Faire. Please be sure to use our direct link so a commission doesn't get taken out! For more information, please visit our wholesale page.
Product Restocks
Coco Clem pieces are made responsibly in limited quantities to reduce excess inventory and waste. We only produce what we expect to sell, so certain sizes or color-ways may sell out quickly and aren’t always restocked right away.
If an item is sold out, we highly recommend signing up for restock notifications on the product page, and you’ll be the first to know when inventory is updated. We’re working to move away from pre-orders on our most-loved designs to keep popular styles consistently in stock.
The best way to keep up with new drops & restocks is to sign up for our mailing list and follow us on instagram.
Jewelry
Materials
Our jewelry is crafted from 316L jewelry-grade stainless steel and finished with 18k gold plating, PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating, and/or colorful enamel detailing, depending on the piece.
Pieces that are both gold plated and PVD coated are noticeably more durable than those with standard plating alone. This combination offers increased resistance to tarnishing, fading, and surface scratches, helping your jewelry retain its shine for years to come, even with regular wear.
While no jewelry is completely immune to wear over time, we’ve chosen these materials for their strength, longevity, and hypoallergenic properties. 316L stainless steel is commonly used in body-safe jewelry and contains only trace amounts of nickel, making it suitable for most skin types. However, individuals with severe nickel allergies should use caution (see our Sensitive Skin & Allergies tab for more info).
Please note that our pieces are gold-plated, not solid gold. With proper care, they’re designed to last, but like all plated jewelry, they may eventually show signs of wear depending on usage and exposure.
Care Instructions
To prolong the life of your Coco Clem jewelry, we recommend removing your pieces before swimming, showering, or applying lotions, perfumes, or hair products. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, including during cleaning and manicures. Do not use traditional jewelry cleaners on plated items, as they may cause damage. Keep in mind that gold plating can naturally wear over time with regular use. These steps help extend the life of your pieces but do not make them permanent. With proper care, your pieces will stay beautiful for years to come.
Sensitive Skin & Allergies
We use 316L stainless steel, a material known for being hypoallergenic and generally safe for sensitive skin or those with metal allergies. It’s commonly used in body-safe jewelry and is unlikely to cause irritation for most people.
That said, everyone’s skin is different. 316L stainless steel may contain trace amounts of nickel (the lowest of any stainless steel grade), but those with severe nickel allergies could still experience a reaction. If your skin is highly reactive, we recommend sticking to implant-grade materials and consulting with a dermatologist or allergist before wearing any new jewelry.
Knitwear
Materials
We believe that good design starts with quality materials: ones that are thoughtfully chosen, responsibly sourced, and built to last.
Our knitwear is crafted from 100% cotton, including GOTS-certified organic cotton in select styles. Cotton is a breathable, durable, and comfortable natural fiber, making it ideal for everyday wear. Unlike synthetic materials, cotton is biodegradable under the right conditions, which can help reduce long-term environmental impact when properly cared for.
We incorporate GOTS-certified organic cotton whenever possible, particularly when the available textures and colorways align with the design we have in mind. While using certified organic cotton is a priority, the limited color range can sometimes be a constraint in product development. That said, we continue to source it wherever it meets both our creative and material requirements.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a leading certification that covers the entire textile supply chain, from farm to finished product, ensuring transparency and accountability in production practices.
GOTS-certified cotton is grown without toxic pesticides or GMOs and processed without harmful chemicals, all while supporting ethical working conditions and fair labor practices. It allows us to offer a product made with more care, both in how it’s made and how it feels to wear.
Whenever possible, we avoid using plastic or petroleum-based materials unless they serve a necessary functional purpose. While no material is perfect, we choose cotton for its comfort, versatility, and potential for more responsible sourcing. Our goal is to create garments that feel good to wear and are made with care for both quality and impact.
Care Instructions
For longevity, please follow the care instructions on your garment label.
All knitwear should be machine washed cold and laid flat to dry to preserve its shape and texture. For extra care after washing, you can gently roll your garment in a clean towel to remove excess water. Press gently, don’t wring. Then lay it flat on a dry towel away from direct sunlight or heat.
Because our knitwear is made from 100% cotton, it may shrink if exposed to high temperatures. Avoid hot water and tumble drying. Always fold your knitwear instead of hanging it, as hangers can stretch the fabric, especially at the shoulders.
Sizing
To get the best fit, please refer to our size chart. Use a soft measuring tape and measure directly on bare skin or over thin, form-fitting clothing. Stand straight and relaxed for the most accurate results, then compare your measurements to the chart. For product-specific guidance, check the product page for model sizing details and see customer reviews for additional fit feedback.
If you have any questions or need help finding your best size, we're happy to help too. Feel free to email us with your measurements and questions at info@cococlem.com.
Company
Our Story
Hi, I’m Courtney, the artist, designer, and founder of Coco Clem. I started this brand in 2018 after falling in love with surface pattern design. I taught myself how to make repeating prints, turned them into custom fabrics, and started sewing swimwear out of my 100-square-foot bedroom. I was doing everything myself: illustrating, designing, pattern-making, fit-testing, sewing, and packing orders.
Naturally, I burned out. I didn’t have the space, tools, or support to keep going, and my body started to show it. I developed severe gut health issues, lost a lot of weight without meaning to, and felt anxious, depressed, and exhausted all the time. I knew I couldn’t keep running a business at the cost of my health, so I stepped away from Coco Clem for 9 months.
In my free time, I became obsessed with learning how to manufacture responsibly. I wanted to figure out how to make things without compromising people, the planet, or my own well-being. As my body and mind slowly healed, my creativity came back. One day, a playful idea to turn a mini hair claw into a functional earring sparked something in me, and that tiny "what if" brought Coco Clem back to life.
Our Mini Claw Clip Hoop Earrings sold out multiple times, and from there the brand kept growing. Since then, we’ve had multiple viral designs, completely sold-out launches, and now have two patent-pending earring styles. These days, I get to focus on what I love most: dreaming up weird, playful, thoughtful designs and working with trusted partners to bring them to life. Now we’re expanding into apparel and continuing to follow the curiosity and joy that inspired Coco Clem from the beginning.
At its core, Coco Clem mixes joy and intentional design. I want you to feel a little more in love with who you are when you wear my work, and to be reminded that inspiration is all around us when we are willing to follow our curiosity. Learning to trust my gut, both physically while healing and creatively while rebuilding, is what led me to the idea that brought Coco Clem back to life.
I care deeply about how and where things are made, and I believe in making good design more accessible. I think about design constantly, how it works, how it feels, and how it can bring meaning and connection into everyday life.
I also believe that making the world more creative shouldn’t come at the expense of our health or the planet. I care just as much about the people wearing our pieces as I do about the people behind the seams.
And because I know that sustainable fashion isn’t always affordable or within reach, I share everything I can for free. On the blog and YouTube channel, you’ll find small business tips, DIYs, and calming studio vlogs made to support and inspire other creatives and curious customers.
I’m so happy you’re here :)

Impact
At Coco Clem, we believe that how we make things, and who we partner with, is just as important as what we make. That means choosing manufacturing partners who meet internationally accepted standards for labor practices, workplace safety, and environmental care. All of our manufacturing partners are based in Guangdong, China.
We prioritize certified sustainable materials like GOTS organic cotton, OEKO-TEX® certified textiles, and FSC-certified packaging. Our packaging is designed for circularity, using compostable and recyclable materials that avoid plastic entirely. This includes TÜV Austria–certified compostable garment bags made from PLA + PBAT, and FSC-certified honeycomb paper mailers for jewelry that are both recyclable and home compostable. Everything is chosen with waste reduction in mind.
We look for vendors who are committed to transparency, traceability, and steady progress. Our guidelines are non-negotiable, but we recognize that meaningful change takes time and ongoing effort. We're always open to evolving our approach if it leads to more thoughtful, responsible outcomes.
